Tyler Sullivan with Iowa Scenic Views by Foot
We hope you can join us for our 1st Summer Special Sunday for 2026!
June 14th at 2pm in the Big Red Barn!
Tyler Sullivan is an Iowa City native and has been traveling the state for the past 8 years. County by county, but just the last 5 years Tyler has been going to every city on the Iowa road map and other hidden ones along the way. Tyler runs at least 1 mile depending on the population. The larger the town, the more he runs. He posts pictures from his journey and is working on writing a poem for every county. His goal is to compile it into a series of books and show how beautiful our state really is. First book is on it’s finally stages and it will be pictures from the northwest region.
Tyler's presentation will showcase our great state through his eyes.Please bring your own comfortable lawn chair, or we do have wooden chairs in the barn.
Cookies & lemonade will be served. Presentation starts at 2 pm The House will be open for guided tours as usual from 1-5. Last tour starts at 4:15. Tours are $5 per person, high school aged-adult, cash or check for tours. Refreshments will be provided at the presentation.

July Special Summer Sunday - July 12th, 2026 - 2pm - Author Jeff Kluever
Author Jeff Kluever recently published his second novel, Marching Home: A Story of Love, War, and Freedom, which tells the story of two men who join the United States Colored Troops during the Civil War and fight at the Battle of New Market Heights.

We have this book for sale in our Granary Gift Shop, as well as a copy donated to the Griswold Public Library.
Jeff will present a straight-forward history presentation about the United States Colored Troops, where we follow the stories of two of the men featured in the book. He will also have copies for sale & signing!
The house will be also be open for tours from 1-5. Last tour starts at 4:15 The House tour fee is $5 for persons who have high school aged & older. Children are free.Bring your lawn chairs and join us for an interesting learning experience. Refreshments will be available at the presentation.

MUSIC ON THE LAWN featuring Sweet Harmony!

Join us in your favorite lawn chair to be entertained by the music of Sweet Harmony! Featuring songs that span the years!
We will serve a light lunch during intermission.
This event is free to the public. Freewill donation will be accepted.
